National Advocacy

MAMES as a whole is activley engaged in the legislative advocacy process on behalf of our members and our industry as a whole.

For the past several years members of the MAMES Board of Directors and other members have traveled to Washington D.C. to participate in the American Association for Homecare Legislative Fly-in. At this event MAMES members have actively lobbied on behalf of our membership to protect our industry, our businesses and the jobs our businesses create across the country.

Our MAMES members advocate on behalf of our clients and beneficiaries and we strive on a daily basis to educate members of Congress and their staffs on the value of the home medical equipment and services industry.

MAMES members are also active at the state level in meeting with the US Representatives and Senators as they travel back to their home states. Many times it is these in state meetings that are the most effective, as they provide our members the opportunity to put a face on the business and on the beneficiaries we service.

State Advocacy

MAMES members are also actively engaged at the state level. Currently, Minnesota has hired a state level lobbiest to work closely in the state legislative arena to protect our members as states struggle with budget issues.

In addition MAMES members in Iowa work very closely with MAMES VIP Sponsor VGM Group on behalf of our MAMES members doing business in Iowa.

We encourage all MAMES Members to help us in this fight by being actively engaged and participating in the legislative process. A strong and unified voice is essential in continuing to promote our message that the products and services our members provide is absolutely a large part of the solution to the healthcare issues and the costs associated with them. Keeping our beneficiary in the home is the most cost effective solution and needs to be protected.

In addition to being active in the process, we need your help in the funding of these state advocacy/lobbying efforts. We ask that you go to the Donation Page of this website and contribute to our state level legislative funds.

These state level funds are dedicated solely to the state you contribute to and are only used for that states legislative issues.

Please contribute today and help us continue to protect our businesses and beneficiaries.
